Mom's first day away!

So I had my first day "back at work" yesterday! I acutally don't go back completly until the 11th of March, but there was a meeting in Minneapolis that no one else could go to, so I decided this would be a good time to test out my seperation anxiety!

Ryan's parents willingly offered to take care of Stella and Lola for the day. Stella usually decides to start her days around 4:30 for the first round of feeding, so I decided that I might as well just stay up and get ready after that feeding in order to leave our house by 6:15! I kidn of forgot what is liek to actually get ready for work in a public place, makeup, hair, clothes that don't have an elastic waist! So I dropped Stella and Lola off a Paske's aroud 6:45 and made a very quick exit to make it easier on me. She was with grandma and grandpa and they raised 3 wonderful kids of their own, so very qualifiyed "babysitters"!

Good thing I left 3 hours early because with all the black ice it took me that long to get to the store and I was still late for the meeting! Anyway so my brest pump in tow I enter the meeting late (luckly I was not the only one that was late!) and of course the door is at the front of the room so there is no sneeking into the meeting! So I found that being away was not as bad as I thought, getting my brain back in work mode kept my mind on other things! However it was more difficult to keep on top of the pumping so often with out Stella reminding me that it is time! Luckly the day did not seem to affect my milk supply, not that I was really worried about it. Anyway I spent a total of 14 hours away and I survived and most importantly Stella survived. HOwever I think I did feel the lack of time spent together this morning when all I wanted to do was lay together on the couch and cuddle!

p.s. My amazing nights seem to be slipping away as Stella has decided to get up a 2:30 am and then again at 5:30! :(
